I had never been to a European football game in my life. A European football game is what us Americans refer to as soccer. I have a friend named Donnie who lives in Manchester, England. We talk on the phone once in a while, but we usually communicate via email. For years, he had been bragging about how intense a Manchester United game could be. He was referring to the crowd. I replied by telling him about how crazy NFL games in the United States could be. I especially brought up the Dog Pound in Cleveland since that’s my home town and my team.
